Williamsburg Getaway!

WOW was this place fabulous! We would definitely like to go back in the summer as there is sooooo much to do.

Since Mari and Xavier slept most of the 4 hour drive, they were no where near tired when we arrived at the resort at 9:30pm. However, they quickly found a way to entertain themselves in the jacuzzi "heart shaped" bathtub (how appropriate was that for Valentine's Day?). I swear every time we were in the room Xavier wanted to be in the bathtub!

Saturday morning we started our day off eating a nice breakfast and then headed to Virginia Beach to meet up with my cousin, Michelle and her family. Mari was beyond excited to see the beach and when Xavier saw the beach he immediately told me he saw "whales" and "dolphins". They enjoyed chasing the seagulls, digging for "treasures" (which included bones that I am sure where chicken legs that someone had eaten and thrown under the pier), and writing there names in the sand.

We had an "unforgetable" lunch experience that had us laughing so hard we were peeing our pants! It was great to see Michelle, Kirk and Camden and are planning to visit them again in the summer.

Saturday night we came back to the room and took the kids to the activities center. and then we ordered dinner in and ate it in front the fireplace and played board games.

Sunday we spent the morning walking around Colonial Williamsburg. It is such a quaint little town with the cutest shops.

It was well needed a relaxing weekend - just what the Dr. ordered!

U. S. vs. Mexico

Soccer fans from across North America will converge on Columbus, Ohio, for U.S.-Mexico Qualifier tomorrow night.

Since marrying Juan, I have been forced into watching a few soccer games over the past 7 years. However, when it comes to the U.S. playing against Mexico I am torn on who to cheer for. My American side tells me to cheer for U.S.; however, when I see him
or him

I start to wonder if I should cheer for Mexico! It doesn't matter who I cheer for because no matter what the outcome is I am still a winner.

A typical woman!

Today I had to take Mari and Xavier to the Dr. to be checked for strept and a persistent cough. We were greeted by Michelle, a cheerful triage nurse. Michelle asked Mari to step on scale and before she got on the scale she told Michelle "I need to take off my jacket (sweatshirt) and my tennis shoes so you get my "real" weight". Michelle and I looked at each other and laughed in amazement that Mari would care what her "real" weight was.

I guess the weight issue is embedded in a woman's brain from birth (well maybe not as Xavier did the same thing)!

A Cool Picture!

Weekend Recap

WOW is it Monday already? We had a busy fun-filled weekend.

Friday evening we went with our friend Deb and her daughter Krista to a "FUN FAIR" at Cardinal Forest Elementary. Mari and Xavier had a blast playing kiddie games, getting tattoos and eating snow cones. They came home with a bag full of "junk" that went into the trash by Saturday morning (shhhhh - don't tell them).

Saturday we went to a bowling party. It was the first time bowling for Juan, Mari and Xavier and they LOVED it! Now my band wagon husband wants to join a bowling league. Mari was a very serious bowler and now she wants to have her 5th birthday party at the bowling alley! Xavier could of cared less about how pins he knocked down, he was just fascinated by carrying the bowling ball and rolling it down the lane.

We started Sunday off with swimming lessons and grocery shopping. Since the weather was so nice we spent most of the afternoon outside playing at the park and riding bikes. We ended the night by cooking chorizo on the grill -YUM!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
