Weekend Update

We had a great family weekend!

Saturday: We went to Kids-N-Motion with Krista and to McDonald's for lunch! When we got home we went to the grocery store and then played outside in the pool and rode bikes.

Sunday: We cooked Daddy breakfast and gave him his Father's Day cards and then went to the Alexandria Waterfront Festival with Deb and Krista. The kids had so much fun riding the rides and watching "Rocknoceros" perform. When we got home we cooked daddy the dinner he requested for Father's Day - Tacos de lengua (tongue tacos) with beans, rice and homemade tortillas! We ended the night by playing games together.

Brown from Head to Toe....

Juan had his driver ride along today with UPS and decked in brown from his hat to his socks! I am not sure who was more excited for him to put his uniform on - MARI or JUAN!!!

Wonder if he will come tonight and ask me "What can brown do for you?" - LOL!

Wow where has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms for the first time and now you have become a little lady!!

Beautiful. Silly. Confident. Stubborn. Dramatic. Passionate. Caring. Artistic. Talkative. There are days that I loose myself in your eyes and wonder how you became the person you are today. Are you really my daughter? I am so grateful for who you are. You have taught me so many great things and opened up my eyes to a new world.

You make my heart sing out loud when I look in the rear view mirror of my minivan. I see you break out in song as your limbs start dancing and I smile at your honesty. You are always happy and pure and I want to bottle your soul up for the next day. And. The next.

I am SO proud to be your mother. Happy 5th birthday sweet sweet sweetest Mari.
